Intresting facts about The Sun 🌞

Image
Here are quick facts about the Sun:- 1.An Intense Power Source: It has 99.86% of all the mass in our solar system, and its weight is roughly an equivalent of 333,000 Earths. 2.A Nuclear Reactor: The Sun fuses 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second, releasing the energy that sustains life on Earth. 3.Age and Lifespan: The Sun is estimated to be 4.6 billion years old. It will burn for another five billion years before it swells to a red giant. 4.Magnetic Disturbances: Sunspots, caused by magnetic activity, can be as big as Earth, releasing solar flares that interfere with Earth's technology. 5.Layered Structure: Its core is 15 million°C, while the surface (photosphere) is a "cool" 5,500°C. 6.Solar Wind: It emits charged particles streaming that create aurora and disruption to satellites. 7.Not a Perfectly Round Ball: It is a little bit flattened due to rotation with a diameter of approximately 1.39 million km. 8.Spectral Type: It is classified as a G2V star:...

Formation of Milkyway Galaxy.

Image
The Milky Way Galaxy, our spiral residence, formed around 13.6 billion years ago-about 200 million years after the Big Bang. Formation is a complex account pieced together through observations, simulations, and theoretical models while we are not able to see the very process itself. Now, here is a brief account of its formation as is understood today: 1.Early Formation: In the early Universe, minuscule density fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background radiation, formed during the Big Bang, started growing under the influence of gravity. These fluctuations, somehow mostly constituted of dark matter, formed dense clumps called dark matter halos. The Milky Way's formation started inside one such halo, which acted as a gravitational well and drew gas and dust. 2.<Gas Collapse and Star Formation>: By about 13.4 billion years ago, hydrogen and helium gas (with traces of lithium) started to collapse into this halo. Upon compression, the gas would have heated up to form the f...

The creation of the Universe

Image
The creation of the universe is often understood under the overarching idea of the Big Bang, the scientific theory that attempts to explain the origin of the universe. Given our current understandings, here is a very generalized explanation:- 1.The Big Bang (13.8 billion years ago): The universe started about 13.8 billion years ago as a hot and dense tiny point of matter and energy which rapidly expanded in space. Space and time came into existence by this act. Almost immediately after, the unequally harsh, rapid-temperature drop phase of cosmic inflation set in. 2.Early Universe: The universe grew up and cooled down, creating conditions favorable for elementary particles like protons, neutrons, and electrons to be formed. Approximately 380,000 years after the Big Bang, it cooled sufficiently to allow atoms to begin forming, leading to the release of cosmic microwave background radiation, which is the oldest light we can now detect. 3.Formation of Stars and Galaxies: Gravity acte...
